Random Hacks gets hacked - The day RHoK went to Atlassian...

Being a recipient of an Atlassian Foundation Grant was already a huge thing for RHoK... The ability to not only continue doing what we do (and love!) but to also explore seeding some regional RHoK’s in other states, beyond Vic, NSW and Queensland.

So we felt even more awesome about this partnership when Atlassian invited us up to Sydney to take part in a tailored ShipGood mini event, where we turned the tables and made the RHoK the subject of an intense, speedy hack experience!

There has been a growing awareness over the past 6 months or so that RHoK needed to have a look at it’s model and how we work - and having some fresh eyes and skilled people give us the once over has been revolutionary. It was a brilliant days in Sydney with the RHoK Australia organisers, picking the brains of Atlassian designers, program managers, software engineers and developers.

Following a few hours, and some very targeted questions and exploration, we are now developing a much clearer and meaningful view of how RHoK can increase it's impact and create more value out of bringing NFPs and technologists together. Special thanks to Jordan C. for enabling us to strip back, dig deep, practise what we preach, and face some hard truths. Grateful for the conversations, fresh ideas and perspectives, and the incredibly insightful recommendations. Lots of sticky notes and scribblings to mull over (new Trello board & RHoK Playbook initiated)...

Watch this space - there's some significant and exciting changes coming!
